Bulawayo, Zimbabwe—In June 2022, Y2L/LADS in Zimbabwe began leadership training for 15 young men at Gifford Boys High School in Bulawayo. As part of their Transformation Project, this group of prefects looked at the school’s dilapidated infrastructure and decided to tackle a major project to clean up and repair the school’s swimming pool.
Former prefects, seeing the good work, have made pledges of donations to help with the project and other repairs around the school, such as sprinklers for the grounds and pipes for the pool.
In November 2022, seven of the 15 graduates attended a graduation ceremony at their school in Bulawayo. The Transformation Project they began will continue into 2023 as the young men use their leadership skills to positively transform their school for future generations.
