The Transforming Leadership & Governance Course is a highly professional and interactive values-based leadership development series that builds effective leaders of integrity with the competencies to spearhead personal, relational, organizational, and societal transformation.
At the end of the TLG Course, participants will be able to:

- Design a Personal Leadership Development Plan.

ILF Facilitators
Prof. Delanyo Adadevoh
Prof. Delanyo Adadevoh is the Founder and President of the International Leadership Foundation (ILF). For more than four decades, he has shared insights and experiences regarding leadership and societal transformation with tens of thousands of students, professionals, religious leaders, executives, diplomats, and heads of state.
Adadevoh has a B.Sc. (Honors) in Chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana), a M.A. in Social Science with emphasis on Leadership Studies from Azusa Pacific University in California, and a Ph.D. in Interpretation Theories from Leeds University, England.
Adadevoh is passionate about transforming Africa and the world with the unique distinctive of compelling moral visions based on God-centered values. To fulfill this vision, he helped found the Africa Leadership and Management Academy (ALMA) in Zimbabwe, the International Leadership University (ILU) in Burundi, and ALMA University College Ghana to develop leaders of integrity who have the competencies to spearhead holistic transformation in strategic spheres of society.
To the same end, Adadevoh also helped found the International Leadership Foundation (ILF), with its global headquarters in Accra, Ghana. ILF has expanded from Africa to Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and the United States of America. Delanyo Adadevoh is also an Associate Professor for the International Leadership University alliance in Africa.
A citizen of Ghana, he has also lived in Nigeria, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. Prof. Adadevoh and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Orlando, Florida.
John Ng’ang’a
John N. Ng’ang’a is the managing consultant for Taruma Consultants, LTD. He consults widely in petroleum, logistics, leadership development, organizational culture, performance management, and other specialties. He is heavily involved in training leaders throughout Africa.
Mr. Ng’ang’a started his career in the 1970s as a development banker before moving on to the petroleum industry. He retired from a multinational oil company’s Kenya country leadership team as its distribution and operations manager.
Mr. Ng’ang’a studied at Kijabe and Alliance High Schools before proceeding to the University of Nairobi, Kenya, where he graduated with a B.A. in Communications. He also holds a M.A. in Leadership from the International Leadership University in Nairobi, Kenya. Mr. Ng’ang’a has diverse management and petroleum operations certifications within and outside Kenya.Mr. Ng’ang’a is a member of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), the Chartered Institute of Marketing–London (CIM), and the Professional Trainers Assignation of Kenya (PTAK). He also sits on the Petroleum Institute of East Africa Board, chairs the Shevo Board, and is a patron of the Ex-School of Petroleum Fellowship.John Ng’ang’a speaks and writes extensively on leadership and interpersonal relations.
Prof. Ibok Oduro
Prof. (Mrs.) Ibok Nsa Oduro is passionate about youth development and actively works to effect transformation. Prof. Oduro obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Ph.D. in Postharvest Technology from Cranfield University, U.K. She holds a certificate in Executive Leadership Development from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST and has vast leadership experience from the various positions she has held in academic and non-academic institutions.
Over the years, Prof. Oduro has used this experience to inspire many lives and help youth develop moral, ethical, and transformative leadership skills. She serves as a mentor for the Food Systems Research Network for Africa (FSNet Africa) to support early career scientists. Prof. Oduro is an eminent Council Member of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ghana, the President of Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WiSTEMGh), a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OSWD), the African Scientific Institute (ASI), a life patron of the Ghana Science Association, Kumasi branch, and a founding member of the Ghana Association of Food Scientists and Technologists.
Prof. Oduro has continually devoted her time to demonstrating holistic leadership, motherhood, and mentorship. At KNUST, she was the first female Provost of the College of Science, KNUST (2016–2019), Dean for the Faculty of Biosciences (2015–2016), Vice Dean for the Faculty of Biosciences (2008–2010), the Head of the Department of Food Science & Technology (2014–2016) and Biochemistry & Biotechnology (2007–2009, 2010–2014), Vice Dean for International Student Affairs, KNUST (2002–2004), and Vice Dean of Students (2004–2006) among others. Collaborating with Nurturing Dreams Ghana, Prof. Ibok Oduro is touching many young persons through the Ibok Oduro Foundation.
She is the Chairperson for the Board of Directors for the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) Ghana and a facilitator for the Executive Diploma in Leadership (EDL) program for Southern and Eastern Africa, piloted by ALMA University College, Ghana. Her life has been a blessing and inspiration to thousands of young people who are thriving in various endeavors around the globe.
Dr. Valentine Hayibor
Dr. Val K. Hayibor is the International Leadership Foundation’s Executive Director for New York and Washington, D.C. He serves diplomatic missions and embassies in those two cities as a life-long mentor, coach, and consultant.
In 2002, Val earned a M.A. in Governance and Leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra. Dr. Hayibor graduated in 2007 with a M.A. and holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Trinity International University, Deerfield. In 2012, he served as adjunct faculty in the Master of Global Leadership Studies program at North Central University, Naperville, IL.
Dr. Hayibor’s research interests include a core inquiry on intercultural leadership interactions in cross-national collaboration, the interface between leadership development and mentoring, and community development.
With extensive experience in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North and South America, including membership in the John Maxwell Leadership Team, Dr. Hayibor adds value more effectively to his work with the International Leadership Foundation. A major focus involves his direct engagement with the diplomatic community in Washington, D.C.
The Hayibor’s live in the Washington, D.C., metro area. They are blessed with three children and four grandchildren.
Lepan Tyoden
Lepan Tyoden graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria, with a B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering. He also has a postgraduate diploma in Computer Science from the same college. Mr. Tyoden is a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and the Nigeria Metallurgical Society. He holds a M.A. in Organizational Leadership and Management and a second M.A. in Transformational Leadership.
For more than 23 years, Mr. Tyoden has worked with the Great Commission Movement, serving as National and West African Training Director and Regional Director for Central and Northeast Nigeria. He is also a staff leader for the International Leadership Foundation in Africa, serving as the National Operations Director in Nigeria. He is a certified facilitator for building powerful ministry teams, a trained coach, and a certified trauma healing facilitator.
Currently, Lepan is a Ph.D. student of Peace Studies at The International Graduate School for Leadership, Manila, Philippines. He is passionate about leadership and is focused on preparing the next generation of leaders to make an impact through active coaching. He has mentored many people and has a wealth of experience in coaching.
Lepan is married to Cecilia, and they have three children.
Prof. William Oduro
Prof. William Oduro is a Professor and Lecturer of Wildlife Biology/Ecology and Management, former Dean of the International Programme Office (IPO), Office of the Vice Chancellor, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
Former Dean of the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources (FRNR), College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, KNUST, former Director of Institute of Renewable Natural Resources (IRNR), KNUST, and former Head of the Department of Wildlife and Range Management, IRNR, and FRNR. Prof. Oduro has spent his entire professional career in Wildlife Biology/Ecology and Management areas, focusing on education, research, and service.
His academic training consists of a B.Sc. degree in Wildlife and Range Management in 1984, a M.Sc. in Wildlife and Range Management, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology and Ecology in 1985 and 1990, respectively, from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and nine other professional certificates from nine countries: US, Canada, Brazil, Denmark, Sweden, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and South Africa. He has two international awards from the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C. (“Best Seminar Report” and “Best Project”.
Wildlife Conservation and Management Training Course Malaysia/Thailand (18 July to 4 September 1994), and the Distinguished Professor of Service Award, KNUST, 27 Nov. 2015. In consultation with the Council of State, Ghana’s president appointed Prof. Oduro as a member of the governing body of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani (UENR), Ghana. He is also a council member of the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Study (UCAES), Bunso, Eastern Region, Ghana.
Prof. Oduro has won and coordinated 23 externally funded projects. Beyond his teaching and research career, he has served in various capacities at the university, national, and international levels–numbering 38, 37, and 23, respectively.
Prof. Oduro has been a member of the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) since 2005 and a regular speaker at top management fora of international and local institutions/organizations, including higher education. He has facilitated leadership training for over 36,000 students, more than 100 senior offices of the Forestry Commission of Ghana, over 300 Ghana Educational Service teachers and senior officers, over 250 church ministers, and over 100 university management staff.
Prof. Oduro is also a regular speaker at the African Forum on Religion and Government in Ghana (AFReG) and a member of the Young Leaders League (Y2L) and the Leadership and Development Studies (LADS) Curriculum Task Force. Y2L/LADS is an initiative of ILF. He is a facilitator for the Executive Diploma in Leadership (EDL) program for Southern and Eastern Africa, a pilot by ALMA University College Ghana.
Prof. Oduro engages the academic community through presentations on Project Proposal Writing and Management, Research Methods, and Scientific Communication Skills. He won the African Role Model in Leadership’s Lifetime Achievement Award from the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition.
Prof. Oduro’s extensive professional experience and travel in 18 African countries and 20 other nations outside Africa give him a unique understanding of the global cultural context of capacity building. He moves freely within the cultures of these countries with knowledge of gender roles, language, and current leadership development issues.
Elizabeth Adadevoh
Elizabeth Adadevoh developed an evidence-based coaching model as part of her graduate work at the University of Central Florida (UCF), USA, where she earned a M.A. in Applied Learning and Instruction in 2017. Elizabeth graduated with a B.Sc. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, USA, in 2011. She earned a Diploma in Business Administration in 2005 from Cambridge International College. She graduated and practiced as a State Registered Nurse in Ghana in 1981.
In 2020, Elizabeth attended a John Maxwell Leadership Training in personal development.
As a young entrepreneur, Elizabeth started and ran her businesses successfully and brings those skills to bear on her professional work. Coupled with other skills, she developed a training program on retirement to assist people in making smooth transitions from active work life to retirement.
Living and working in Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and the USA have contributed to Elizabeth Adadevoh’s strong multicultural perspectives, relational, and leadership skills.
Dr. Victor Koh
Victor A. Koh is the International Leadership Foundation’s (ILF) Vice President for Social and Economic Development. He is an Advisor and Council Member to the Government of Kenya’s National Economic and Social Council in the Office of the President. He has traveled, consulted, lectured, and spoken in over 125 countries in the last 40 years at international seminars, conferences, and conventions. He has served on numerous international boards of for-profit and non-profit organizations, educational institutions, corporations, and companies.
Dr. Koh was born and educated in Singapore, receiving his B.Sc. degree from the University of Singapore. He has earned M.A. degrees in Leadership, Management, and International Marketing. He received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in the USA. Dr. Koh specializes in Leadership, Management, and Economic and Social Development.
Dr. Koh is a professor of Business Administration and was a M.B.A. Professor of Marketing Management with the State University of New York at Buffalo, New York, and taught in the American M.B.A. degree program at the Dalian University of Technology in China, which the administration of U.S. President Ronald Reagan sponsored.
As a regular speaker, Dr. Koh is a senior facilitator in the Transforming Leadership & Governance Seminars organized by the International Leadership Foundation for government, business, and educational leaders in 15 African nations.
The Prime Minister of Singapore recognizes Dr. Koh as a “Pioneer Generation” member who helped to build today’s Singapore.
Stephen Adu-Amoani
In August 2017, the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) appointed Stephen Adu-Amoani as Executive Director of ILF Africa and the Caribbean. Mr. Adu-Amoani’s role facilitates the ILF’s expansion and growth of key initiatives focused on leadership development across the continent.
Born in Accra, Ghana, Adu-Amoani earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1989. He began his career in National Service as Director of Planning in 1990. In 1991, he began working with a NGO as a staff trainer. Adu-Amoani transitioned to many roles with this NGO over the next 31 years, including Director for Training, National Administrator, Director for Strategy and Field Operations, Operations Director, and Financial Controller/Crisis Management Leader. In June 2007, he earned a Executive M.B.A in Finance.
Mr. Adu-Amoani has traveled extensively and has skills and competencies in executive team leadership, organizational strategy and development, respecting and leveraging human capital, staff training and policy development, and financial management. He is also a certified internal auditor with experience in many countries.
As Executive Director for ILF Africa and the Caribbean, Mr. Adu-Amoani’s passion is to “see leaders of integrity at the helm of affairs of all domains of society.”
Stephen Adu-Amoani married Diana in 1993, and they have three adult children: Joseph, David, and Joanna. They reside in Accra, Ghana.
Prof. Mike Wicker
Based on his research on transformational leadership in the African context, Prof. Mike Wicker believes change happens from the inside out. Mike holds a Ph.D. in Educational and Organizational Leadership. As a Campus Crusade for Christ staff member, Wicker served in a South African homeland during apartheid as a Team Leader and Engineer in Lesotho as a National Country Coordinator and college lecturer and in Zimbabwe as Academic Dean at the Africa Leadership & Management Academy (ALMA).
With 45 years of service across the African continent, Prof. Wicker is a professor at the International Leadership Universities (ILU) in Burundi, Cameroon, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe, as well as the ALMA University College in Ghana. Since his Setswana name given to him is “Tsepo,” meaning “Hope,” Mike’s life calling is to bring “hope” and spiritual encouragement to those around him.
Prof. Wicker is Vice President of Education with the International Leadership Foundation (ILF). He is married to Helen and has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
Egide Niyongabo
Egide Niyongabo holds a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from the International Leadership University Burundi (ILU Burundi). Since 2012, Mr. Niyongabo has served as a Transforming Leadership & Governance Seminar (TLG Seminar) facilitator.
In this capacity, he has facilitated several TLG Seminars attended by many senior government officials and leaders from various institutions and sectors, including the public and private sectors, civil society organizations, faith-based organizations, churches, university youth, academics, etc.
In April 2015, Mr. Niyongabo was part of the team that revised the TLG Seminar modules in Accra, Ghana. Apart from being an ILF facilitator, Mr. Niyongabo also serves as the Chairperson of the ILU Burundi Governing Council. Professionally, since 2008, Mr. Niyongabo has been a conference interpreter and, therefore, has broad professional and collaborative experience at various levels of
leadership and in many spheres of society. In addition, since 2017, Mr. Niyongabo has been a certified intercultural trainer for Dwellworks, LLC, an international consulting firm based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Passionate about contributing to personal and societal transformation in his country and beyond, Mr. Niyongabo has authored two books entitled, Transformation in Deed: Hope for a Brighter Future and The Father Knows. Mr. Niyongabo is married to Anita, and together, they are blessed with five children, one girl and four boys.
Dr. Musimbi Ondeko
Dr. Musimbi Ondeko is a chiropractic doctor running a private practice in Nairobi, Kenya. She graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA, and is a member of her alma mater’s Board of Regents. Earlier, Ondeko graduated from the Lester B. Pearson United World College (UWC) of the Pacific in Vancouver, Canada, a unique college promoting international understanding. Dr. Ondeko’s experience at this college inspired her interest in leadership, leading her to serve as chairperson of the Kenya National Committee of UWC and as a member of the International Board of UWC. In these capacities, she traveled to the “four corners” of the world, which exposed her to different nations and cultures, enriching her international experience. This created a desire to see good servant leaders of integrity in Kenya and worldwide.
Dr. Ondeko facilitates leadership training during Transforming Leadership & Governance Seminars (TLG Seminars) and the Oakseed Leadership Course (OSELC) while serving as a member of the Institute for National Transformation and serves as a member of the International Leadership Foundation (ILF)–Kenya Board.
She also serves on the executive committee of the Executive Leadership Network (ELNET), which networks leaders of integrity to spearhead the holistic transformation of Kenya and beyond. Dr. Ondeko is the national chairperson of the Progressive Leadership Forum, which nurtures and mentors servant leaders of integrity. She is also the chair of the Ex-Kenya High School Christian Fellowship, which gives spiritual guidance, mentoring, and other support to maintain the school’s standards.
Dr. Ondeko is married to Dr. John N. Ondeko, and they have three sons and a daughter.
Dr. Victor Manyim
Dr. Victor M. Manyim is the Africa Director of Organizational Development Consulting at the International Leadership Foundation. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the National Advanced School of Engineering of the University of Yaoundé I (First in Batch) and a Strategic Leadership and Leadership Coaching Doctorate from Regent University in Virginia, USA.
He is the Inventor of Nine Forces of Change©, a methodology to overdetermine the adoption of productive behaviors he designed for his doctoral works at Regent University. He has facilitated or co-facilitated with the highest-level audiences in Africa, including the President of the Central African Republic, Cabinet Ministers, and CEOs.
He has been a civil instructor at the Cameroon National Gendarmerie, where he taught strategies to promote ethical behavior among troops using the Nine Forces of Change. Dr. Manyim has coached various executives across Africa and beyond, including a General Manager of MTN Cameroon Mobile Money and a U.S. Air Force Instructor.
As part of his rich experience, he has over 150 hours of leadership coaching, 300 hours of youth leadership facilitation, and 120 hours of executive leadership facilitation.
His passion for developing young leaders has driven him to influence more than 15,000 high school students in Cameroon through Young Leaders Coaching, a youth leadership development system he designed with a pan-African team of scholars and youth and leadership experts.
Dr. Olivia Muchena
Dr. Olivia Muchena is the former Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Science and Technology Development for the Government of Zimbabwe.
She is a passionate educator of the next generation of African leaders in church, politics, and government. She is also a mother, grandmother, organic vegetable grower, and lay preacher in the United Methodist Church. Following a career spanning over 40 years—beginning with non-governmental organization (NGO) development work, academia, and politics and government—Dr. Muchena is excited to be synthesizing her lifelong observations and experiences. She is pilot testing a module she developed on Preparation for Ministry and Service in Politics and Government.
Dr. Muchena’s academic career of 17 years with the University of Zimbabwe began in 1979 as a research consultant in the Centre of Inter-Racial Studies. Then, she served in the Department of Adult Education, followed by tenure as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agriculture, Economics, and Extension. From 1995–2015, she served in the Government of Zimbabwe as an executive member of government and a Member of Parliament. Her portfolios include Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office for Land Reform and Resettlement, Minister of Women’s Affairs, Gender, and Community Development, and Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Science and Technology Development. She served five consecutive terms as a Member of Parliament and then six months as a Senator.
Dr. Laura Mautsa
Dr. Laura Maleya Mautsa is married to Lloyd Mautsa, and they have three children. Laura is the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) Africa Director for the Young Leaders League (Y2L). She is Dean of the School of Leadership and Governance at the International Leadership University Kenya (ILU Kenya). She is also a consultant in Leadership and Management.
Dr. Mautsa received a Bachelor of Education in Linguistics and Literature at Kenyatta University, Nairobi. She has a Master’s degree from the Africa International University (AIU) in Nairobi and a second Master’s from North West University (Potchefstroom) in South Africa. Her Ph.D. topic, Female Leadership in the New Testament at North West University (Potchefstroom), draws out principles for contemporary leadership by exploring different ways women in the ancient world influenced their communities.
Dr. Mautsa is passionate about contributing to the development of leaders so that they can significantly engage in holistic transformation in their families, church, organizations, and society. She is a diverse, experienced professional in leadership within the education and development sectors. Dr. Mautsa can direct strategy, undertake advocacy, develop and implement programs, manage staff, and lead change working with organizations, professionals, and vulnerable communities.
Online Transforming Leadership & Governance Course
REQUIREMENTS
- Assessment & Evaluation: Participants will be evaluated based on their attendance and successful completion of their selected Transformation Project.
- Supporting Materials: Information and data are not limited to lectures. The course includes visual aids, images, diagrams, and access to the e-textbook Transforming Leadership: Creating New Futures through Mindset Shifts by Prof. Delanyo Adadevoh, Ph.D. The course also provides students with monthly one-hour coaching appointments with a certified coach during the course term.
- Course Policies: Regular attendance, successful completion of Transformation Project, active participation in weekly online sessions, and academic integrity.
